This is a 2-part workshop to explore and integrate the 5 yamas and niyamas into your daily life and yoga practice. The first part will cover the yamas; the moral disciplines and the second part will cover the niyamas, the observances.  Each part will be 2 hours in length and will start with a check in, journaling prompts, power-point presentation, meditation and movement practice to help integrate and time for reflections and questions at the end.

The yamas and niyamas are yoga’s ethical guidelines laid out in the first two limbs of Patanjali’s eightfold yogic path.  They are like a map or moral compass written to guide you on your life journey.  The yamas can be described as restraints or moral discipline, while the niyamas are observances or individual discipline. These first two limbs are interconnected and our yoga practice begins with them and extends and grows into the other limbs. Join me for this exploration of the first two limbs on the eightfold path to help extend our practice off our mats and into our lives, where we can move deeper into wholeness, unity and loving awareness.
