Join me for a gentle therapeutic class focused on the spine and the 4 directions of movement, flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion. Back pain is the most common health complaint in North America and one of the top reasons for missed workdays. We will dive into the anatomy of the spine, including the function of vertebrae and the major muscle groups that support the spine, including the pelvic floor muscles. The practices will focus on poses help strengthen your back and core and explore different modification to certain poses that bring pain or discomfort. In this series we will explore a variety of different asana postures to help improve range of motion, flexibility, balance, strength and functional movement. It is combined with gentle ball rolling and doweling to tap into our fascial system and learn different tools to help create more space, freedom and ease in the body and mind. This class is great for everyone, and I will adjust and modify as needed for whoever shows up to practice.
